ARTEBA 2023: CELEBRATION OF MODERN ART IN BUENOS AIRES

04 sep, 2023

In Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, from September 1st to 3rd, the country's premier event in the realm of modern art, Arteba 2023, took place. More than 40,000 art enthusiasts attended this art fair, turning it into a veritable artistic celebration. Not even a rainy Sunday could dampen the enthusiasm of the visitors.

Despite the political and economic instability currently being experienced in Argentina, Arteba 2023 showcased remarkable activity in the art market. Exact figures regarding the volume of transactions remain undisclosed at this point. However, galleries report that artworks priced between $200,000 and $300,000 were successfully sold. Interestingly, some art critics and economists attribute this to the ongoing political situation and high inflation in the country. The upcoming presidential elections in October also add an element of uncertainty. Nevertheless, it's during such times that art can serve as a refuge and safeguard for one's assets.

Arteba 2023 featured works from 400 artists representing 58 galleries. It received accolades from numerous participants and guests, including Sebastian Bokkazzi, the director of Roldán Moderno gallery, who remarked that it was the best event since 2008.

Arteba has not only served as a platform for trading artworks but also as a space for the exchange of ideas and inspiration. This contemporary art fair has demonstrated that art continues to thrive in Argentina, and people eagerly follow the creative endeavors of its artists.
